Carl Gene Marion, 85, of Kingsport, passed away on Thursday morning, July 12, 2018, at 10:00 am. His passing was peaceful. Carl was born on October 30, 1932, in Charleston, West Virginia. He graduated from Morris Harvey University and followed a career in education, coaching football, basketball, and track in West Virginia, Florida, Tennessee, and Virginia.He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Howard Marion.Those left to cherish Carl’s memory are his wife, Ann; sons, David, Alan, Steve, and John; daughter, Ann; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. A Memorial Service will be held in Northern Virginia at a later date.The family would like to extend a special thank you to Mountain States Hospice and especially Steve Marion, Yvette Berkley, Polly King, Bill Hoffman, Matt Swaney, and Ken and Edna Potts for their sincere care and compassion.The care of Carl Gene Marion and his family has been entrusted to the staff of Oak Hill Funeral & Cremation Services.Read Obituary
