Clara Harrell Jenkins, 92, of Kingsport, went to be with the Lord Tuesday, November 21, 2017, at Wexford House. She was born June 10, 1925, in Farmer City, Illinois to the late, Charlie and Amanda Brooks Harrell.Clara was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and sister who enjoyed spending time with her family. She was a seamstress and worked for several years at the Highland Cotton Mill. Mrs. Jenkins was a charter member of Higher Ground Baptist Church where she sang in the choir.In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Paul E. Jenkins; nine brothers and sisters.Those left to cherish her memory are her sons, Larry Jenkins and wife, Judy, David Jenkins and wife, Patsy; granddaughter, Chaeli Jenkins; grandsons, Bryan Jenkins, Chad Jenkins and Jeremiah Jenkins; five great-grandchildren; sister, Trixie Sue Clowers; brother, Joe Harrell and wife, Sue; several nieces and nephews also survive.The family will receive friends 11:00 am until 12:00 pm Friday, November 24, 2107 at Oak Hill Funeral & Cremation Services. A Celebration of Life Service will be conducted at 12:00 pm in the J. Wayne Hamilton Memorial Chapel with Dr. Phil Hoskins officiating.A Graveside and Committal Service will follow at Oak Hill Memorial Park in the Garden of the Last Supper. Nephews will serve as pallbearers.In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials in Clara’s honor be made to the American Cancer Society, 508 Princeton Road, Johnson City, TN 37601.The family extends their sincere gratitude to the staff of Wellmont Hospice for their compassionate care of our mother during her final days.The care of Clara Harrell Jenkins and her family has been entrusted to the staff of Oak Hill Funeral & Cremation Services.Read Obituary

Clara lived beside me when I was growing up and made several nice coats for me when I was a little girl. She was an excellent seamstress. I have fond memories of her and Paul, Larry and David. My thoughts and prayers are with you
