Diana G. Johnson

Diana G. Johnson, 69, of Kingsport, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, December 10, 2017, at Holston Valley Medical Center. She was born February 20, 1948 in Greenville, TN to the late, Berthold and Nellie McGhee Thornburg.Diana was a loving Christian wife and mother who was assisting in raising her grandchildren and had fostered many children over the years. She enjoyed cooking, working in her flowers, going to yard sales, rescuing animals and Facebook.She was a Caregiver and enjoyed her years of employment at the Dermid Home for Children in Abingdon, VA.In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her step-father, Martin David Roberts and brother, Joel Thornburg.Left to cherish her memory are her husband, James E. Johnson, Sr.; daughters, Jennifer Mullins and Hilda Nowlin; son, Vince Mullins (Shelly); numerous grandchildren and two special grandchildren of the home, Elizabeth Benedetto and David Mullins.The family will receive friends from 12:00-1:00 pm Saturday, December 16, 2017 in the J. Wayne Hamilton Memorial Chapel of Oak Hill Funeral Home. A Celebration of Life Service will follow at 1:00 pm with Evangelist Johnny Persinger officiating.In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials in Diana’s honor be made to T.C.G.C.
