Doris Jones

Doris Jones, 67, of Kingsport, passed away Friday, May 4, 2018, at Holston Valley Medical Center.She was born in Kingsport, lived most of life in Peoria, IL and returned to Kingsport to live out the remainder of her life.Doris worked as a guard at the Illinois Department of Corrections. She enjoyed playing games on the computer, reading and spending time with her furry friends.She was a loving mother, grandmother, daughter and friend.She was preceded in death by her son, David Anthony Bierly; father, Denver T. Bishop, Sr.Surviving are her granddaughter, Sarah; loving mother, Pauline Bishop; brother, Denver T. Bishop, Jr.; special cousin, Robin and several aunts, uncles and cousins.In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Kingsport Animal ShelterThe family would like to extend a sincere thank you to doctors and nurses on 3rd Floor Wilcox at Holston Valley Medical Center.It was Doris’ wishes to be cremated.The care of Doris Jones and her family has been entrusted to Oak Hill Funeral & Cremation Services.Read Obituary
