Dorman G. Blizzard

Dorman G. Blizzard, 82, of Church Hill, TN went to be with the Lord Saturday, July 7, 2018, at his residence. He was born March 23, 1936, in Hawkins County to the late Orville and Lucille Woods Blizzard.Dorman was a loving and kind husband, father, grandfather and brother. His hobbies included riding his motorcycle, fishing and gardening. His employment history included barbering, selling cookware and Dorman retired from the Kingsport Press following thirty years of service.He was a proud veteran of the U.S. Army and an active member of Higher Ground Baptist Church.In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Dennis Blizzard; sister, Barbara Forrester; brothers, O.H., James and Ray Blizzard.Those left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of thirty-eight years, Patty Blizzard; daughter, Sandy Mullinax (Jamie); son, Billy Blizzard; step-daughter, Rhonda Trimbath (Charles); sisters, Mavis Smith (Dale), Pat Blizzard and Pam Delaney (Mike); brother, Gerald Blizzard; eight grandchildren and two step-grandchildren.The family will receive friends 5:00-6:45 pm on Wednesday, July 11, 2018, at Oak Hill Funeral & Cremation Services. A Celebration of Life Service will follow at 7:00 pm in the J. Wayne Hamilton Memorial Chapel with Dr. Phil Hoskins and Dr. Ronnie Owens officiating.A Military Graveside Service will be conducted by The American Legion Hammond Post #3 & Gate City, VA Post #265 at 11:30 am on Monday, July 16, 2018, at National Cemetery, Mountain Home, TN.In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials in Dorman’s honor be made to Higher Ground Baptist Church, 1625 Lynn Garden Drive, Kingsport, TN 37665.The care of Dorman G.
