Earnest Miles, 66, of Kingsport, passed away Wednesday, June 13, 2018, at the V.A. Medical Center, Mountain Home, TN.Earnest enjoyed life and was a hard-working man. He worked as a cook in various Tri-Cities restaurants for over forty years. He enjoyed watching western movies and playing pool. Earnest was especially fond of his Yorkie, Milo.Mr. Miles was a proud veteran of the U.S. Army having served during the Viet Nam war. He attended Central Assembly of God.Earnest was preceded in death by his wife, Sylvia Miles; parents, Nathan and Edna Wilson Miles and his sister, Carol Vaughn.Those left to cherish his memory are his sons, Ernie Miles, Jr. (Nicole) and Anthony Miles (Angela) and six grandchildren.The family will receive friends 1:00-2:00 pm Monday, June 18, 2018, in the J. Wayne Hamilton Memorial Chapel at Oak Hill Funeral & Cremation Services. A Celebration of Life Service will follow at 2:00 pm with Pastor Phil Kestner officiating.Full military rites will be conducted by The American Legion Hammond Post #3/ Gate City Post #265 following the Memorial Service.The care of Earnest Miles and his family has been entrusted to the staff of Oak Hill Funeral & Cremation Services.Read Obituary

Ernie was such a great person. He was a special person who was sincerely nice and always had an upbeat attitude. He loved bringing Milo into the pharmacy with him and we enjoyed seeing them both. He will be missed so much.

Earnest also had two half brothers named Robert Darnell and Clarence Darnell. Robert has passed away. I pray that Earnest is at rest and is in Heaven with GOD.
I hope that his family feels that Earnest is in a better place and is not suffering anymore.
