Emogene Moody

Emogene Moody, 94, of Kingsport, went home to be with the Lord Tuesday, September 5, 2017 at Indian Path Medical Center.She was born April 5, 1923 to the late Floyd Andrew and Edith Price Cox.Mrs. Moody was a member of Cedar View Presbyterian Church. She retired from J. C. Penney in the Catalog Department.Mrs. Moody enjoyed working around her home and yard. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother and cherished spending time with her family.She was preceded in death by her husband, H. Clay Moody and sisters, Betty Cox, Joan Hunt and Georgia Sutton.Surviving are her daughter, Sharon Moody Bone and husband, Kent; son, John A. Moody and wife, Claudia; granddaughter, Amanda Moody Schumpert and husband, Scott; brother in law, J.B. Moody, and wife, Ida, and several nieces and nephews.The family will receive friends from 5 – 7 pm Friday, September 8, 2017 at Oak Hill Funeral and Cremation Services.A Funeral Service will follow at 7 pm in the J. Wayne Hamilton Memorial Chapel with Rev. Davis Whitesides officiating.A Graveside Service will be conducted at 11 am Saturday, September 9, 2017 at Oak Hill Memorial Park in the Garden of Sermon on the Mount. Family and friends are asked to meet at the graveside at 10:50 am.The care of Emogene Moody and her family has been entrusted to the staff of Oak Hill Funeral and Cremation Services.Read Obituary
