Harry E. Boggs, 72, of Kingsport, passed away unexpectedly Saturday, June 30, 2018, at Holston Valley Medical Center with his family by his side. He was born in Kingsport, to the late Wesley and Irene McKinley Boggs.Harry was a loving husband, father and granddaddy. He enjoyed playing golf, fishing, investing in the stock market and spending time with his grandchildren. Harry was also active in local and state politics.Mr. Boggs employment included seventeen years at Holston Defense Corporation and Eastman Chemical Company. He then became Owner/Operator of Warrior’s Path State Park Facilities and retired as an Economic Developer with the State of Tennessee.Harry attended First Baptist Church, Kingsport.Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of fifty-one years, Carolyn R. Boggs; daughters, Melissa Dryden (Allen) and Julie Greear (Thomas); grandchildren, Katie and Parker Greear, Henry, Dean and Andrew Dryden; brothers, Tom Boggs, Charlie Boggs and Doug Boggs; one niece and two nephews; loyal companions, Puppy and Buddy.The family will receive friends on Tuesday, July 3, 2018, from 6:00-8:00 pm in the Fireside Room at Oak Hill Funeral & Cremation Services.A Graveside & Committal Service will be conducted on Thursday, July 5, 2018, at 1:00 pm in Section B at Oak Hill Memorial Park with Dr. Marvin Cameron officiating. Serving as pallbearers, Thomas Greear, Allen Dryden, Jack Lawson, Joe White, Wayne Culbertson and Mike Misciagna. Honorary pallbearers, Dr. Mike Boggan and Dr. Jeff Fenyves.In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials in Harry’s honor be made to The Bridge Home No Kill Animal Rescue, P.O.
