Herman Jeffery Martin

Jeff Martin, age 52, of Kingsport went to be with the Lord on Thursday, February 15, 2018. Jeff grew up in Kingsport and was a graduate of Sullivan North High School. He was employed by the City of Kingsport at the Upper East Tennessee Head Start where he was known as Mr. Jeff by all the children. Jeff was an avid UT Vols football fan and comic book collector. He enjoyed watching football, fishing and trivia. Preceding him in death are his mother, Bobbie Martin; maternal grandparents, Abe and Martha Dockery; paternal grandparents, Reed and Ruby Martin. Surviving are his son, Darin Malone and his mother, Laura Malone; father, Herm Martin; brother, Jason Martin; nieces, Chelsea Martin, Emmy and Maggie Music; great-nephew, Conor Palmer; and special friends, Joe Nelms and Jeff Shelby. The family will receive friends from 5:00 until 7:00 pm, Monday, February 19, 2018 in the J. Wayne Hamilton Memorial Chapel of Oak Hill Funeral and Cremation Services. A Funeral Service will follow in the chapel at 7:00 pm with Pastor Morris Baker officiating. A Graveside Service will be held at 11:00 am, Tuesday, February 20, 2018 in the Garden of Meditation at Oak Hill Memorial Park. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
