Jason Allen Griffin, 42, of Gate City, VA, went home to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on May 9, 2018.Jason was born in Kingsport, TN to his parents, Carlos and Jane (Stokes) Griffin, both currently of Gate City, Virginia.He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Clyde and Elsie Griffin, and Cecil and Dotsie Stokes.Those left to cherish Jason’s memory are his son, Matthew Allen Griffin; sisters, Regina Diets (Dennis Baldwin) and Jennifer (Rick) Duncan; mother of Matthew Griffin, Cheryl Derossett Bridges; special nephew, Joshua Adkins; special friends, Sandy Palmer and Michael Palmer; several nieces and nephews also survive.The family will receive friends from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm on Saturday, May 12, 2018, in the J. Wayne Hamilton Memorial Chapel of Oak Hill Funeral and Cremation Services. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 7:00 pm in the chapel with Pastor Jeff DeBoard officiating.In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Jason’s memory to www.shrinersinternational.org The care of Jason Allen Griffin and his family has been entrusted to the staff of Oak Hill Funeral & Cremation Services.Read Obituary
I have known the griffins since I was 17 and well let's just say 20 years. Jason was the first boy I ever loved and I will never forget him or the love we shared. And Jane and carlos r like family they took us in when we needed help. I know ur hurting right now and if u need me just call me god bless. In my thoughts and prayers always

we are so sorry to hear about your son, nothing could be worse than loosing a child. I remember the Griffin's and the Stokes when I moved away 56 years ago none of us were married or had children we were childhood friends and neighbors.We Pray GOD will comfort your families through this difficult time. Our prayers and thoughts are with you. We love everyone and pray to see everyone at the great reunion in the great beyond.

So sorry to hear this news there is nothing worse than loosing a child. none of us were married or had children when I moved here 56 years ago. I never forgot the Griffin's or the Stokes. I pray God will put his arms around you all through this difficult time. As you all know JESUS IS KING and I look forward to seeing all my friends maybe riding on a cloud to the reunion in a better place. We love all of you and sending up prayers.
