Jimmy “Jim” Anderson, 82, of Kingsport, went home to be with the Lord Sunday, November 26, 2017, at Wexford House after a brief illness.He was born in Kingsport and had lived here all his life. Mr. Anderson served in the U. S. Army was a member of Vermont United Methodist Church.He worked at Eastman as an electrician for 25 years and owned and operated Miss Bojangles Jewelry Store in the Fort Henry Mall and the Johnson City Mall.Mr. Anderson enjoyed travelling with his wife, Ann and loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.He was preceded in death by his wife, Ann Leedy Anderson; infant son; parents, Sterling and Eleanor Hull Anderson; sister, Evelyn Jo Hudson and two brothers, Hugh Anderson and Bob Anderson.Surviving are two sons, Michael G. Anderson and wife, Cathy and J. David Anderson; grandchildren, Ryan Anderson and Browden Anderson and numerous nieces and nephews.The family will receive friends from 5 – 7 pm Thursday, November 30, 2017 at Oak Hill Funeral and Cremation Services.A Celebration of Life Service will follow at 7 pm in the J. Wayne Hamilton Memorial Chapel with Pastor Jeremy McMillan officiating.Military Entombment Rites will be conducted at 11 am Friday, December 1, 2017 at the Oak Hill IV Mausoleum in Oak Hill Memorial Park. Honorary Pallbearers will be Jackie Blevins, David Hammonds, Paul Godsey and Scott Castle. Family and friends are asked to meet at the Mausoleum at 10:50 am.In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Alzheimer’s Association visiting www.alz.org or Vermont United Methodist Church, 1817 Bloomingdale Road, Kingsport, TN 37660.The family would like to extend a special thank you to his caregivers, Mary Simpson, Jewel Amos and Tina Amos; Dr. Marta Wayt and staff and to the nurses and staff of the 500 Wing at Wexford House.The care of Jimmy Anderson and his family has been entrusted to Oak Hill Funeral and Cremation Services.
