John H. Hall

John H. Hall, 83, of Kingsport, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, January 9, 2018, at Holston Valley Medical Center. He was born April 5, 1934, in Pineville, KY to the late, William and Katie Willis Hall.John was a loving son, husband, father, grandfather and brother who sincerely loved his family. He enjoyed playing his guitar, hunting and running his coon dogs.Mr. Hall was a committed Christian and an ordained Pentecostal Holiness preacher. He had pastored several area churches over the years.He retired from the City of Kingsport, Maintenance Division, following twenty-two years of service.He was preceded in death by his wife, Ruby Jane Osborne Hall; daughter, Rita Hall Neff; son, Jonas Hall; one sister and five brothers.Those left to cherish his memory are his daughter, Barbara Shaffer (Bill); sons, Bill Hall (Diana), Eugene Hall (Robin), Roger Hall, Dennis Hall, John Hall, Jr. (Teresa) and Tim Hall; sister, Mary Hall; eight grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren.The family will receive friends on Thursday, January 11, 2018, from 5:00 - 6:45 pm at Oak Hill Funeral & Cremation Services. A Celebration of Life Service will be follow at 7:00 pm in the J. Wayne Hamilton Memorial Chapel with Pastor Bob Odle officiating.A Graveside and Committal Service will be conducted at 12:00 pm on Friday, January 12, 2018, at Oak Hill Memorial Park in the Garden of Everlasting Life.
