Lorraine Hager Vermillion, 76, of Kingsport, went to be with the Lord Thursday, December 7, 2017, at Holston Valley Medical Center.She was a graduate of Dobyns-Bennett High School and had previously worked for Pet Dairy and the Kingsport Times News. However, her passion was taking care of people and she became a full-time care giver.Her greatest joys in life were her family, friends, Merlin her cat, playing bingo, helping and giving to others. She was a fervent giver in helping several retired ministers.Mrs. Vermillion was a member of Chestnut Street Church of God.She was preceded in death by her parents, Clara Riner Hager and Wannace Hager; brother, Kyle Hager; son, Michael Vermillion.Lorraine is survived by her special sister, Darlene Hager; one of a kind brother, Wallace Hager and wife, Vonda; favorite nephew Travis Hager and wife, Kristy; special niece, Wendi Salyer and husband, Jeff; and her one and only great niece, KaAnna Salyer all of Kingsport, TN.Family and friends are invited to celebrate Lorraine’s life at a Graveside and Committal Service at 11:00 am Saturday, December 9, 2017, at Oak Hill Memorial Park in Mausoleum I. Rev. Hobart Bradshaw will officiate and a eulogy will be given by Wendi Hager Salyer. Music will be provided by Wilma Dean. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials in Lorraine’s honor be made to the Blountville Church of God, P.O. Box 464, Blountville, TN 37617.The care of Lorraine Hager Vermillion and her family has been entrusted to the staff of Oak Hill Funeral & Cremation Services.
