Livia Mae Laek, 33, of Kingsport, passed away Wednesday, February 28, 2018, at Holston Valley Medical Center. She was born March 19, 1984, in Johnson City, TN.Livia was an energetic, fun-loving and outgoing lady who enjoyed traveling, hiking and attending music festivals. She loved animals and was very fond of dogs and cats. Her greatest joy in life was spending time with her family and friends, including her many cousins. Livia adored spending time with her niece and nephew and was an avid Ohio State Buckeye football fan.Livia graduated from the University of Tennessee with a B.S. Degree in Sociology and later earned her R.N. Degree from E.T.S.U., graduating Cum Laude. She served as a home health nurse with Mountain States Alliance, helping patients around the region where she fulfilled her calling in life of helping others. Livia was an organ and tissue donor continuing her legacy of hope and healing.She was a member of Colonial Heights Presbyterian Church.Livia was preceded in death by her maternal grandfather, Forest Moreland; paternal grandparents, Harley and Lillie Laek; aunt, Susan Laek; uncles, Wendell Moreland and Tim Smith.Those left to cherish her memory are her father, Stephen Laek; mother, Victoria Laek; brothers, Toby Laek (Kristen) and Tony Laek (Casey); soul mate, Jeffrey Wallace; niece, Malin Laek; nephew, Thaddeus Laek; maternal grandmother, Kathaleen Moreland; aunts, Jill Murley, Charma Behnke (Eric) and Penelope Smith; uncles, Mark Laek (Doris) and Timothy Laek.A Celebration of Life Service will be conducted at 2:00 pm Sunday, March 4, 2018, at Colonial Heights Presbyterian Church with Rev. Tom Phillips officiating. Livia was a happy, joyful young woman who loved her family and her many friends. She was kind, thoughtful and caring. We knew her all her life and are deeply saddened for Steve and Vicky and everyone who cherished her friendship and love. We thank the Lord for the thirty three years she was able to share with her family and the blessing she was to so many people.
