Max Elvis Mitchell, 71, of Kingsport, entered eternal life on May 20, 2018. He was born in Council Bluffs, Iowa, and was a long time resident of Fort Collins, Colorado before retiring to Kingsport, TN in 2006.He served in the United States Army Special Forces during the Vietnam War. Max owned and operated many businesses during his life. He was an active member of MUFON and held various leadership positions, and often appeared as a guest speaker on various radio shows. Max enjoyed fishing and golfing.He was preceded in death by his parents, Max Fredrick Mitchell and Geraldine Perry Mitchell.He is survived by his wife, Laura; brother, Daniel Earl Mitchell; daughter, Tammari LaSharr and husband, Rick of Kent, WA; their son, Josh LaSharr and wife, Haley; their daughter, Brielle LaSharr; daughter, Heather McNew and husband, Gary; their son, Nathan McNew of West Palm Beach, FL; daughter, April Gomez and her husband, Joey of Las Vegas, NV; their children, Abby Moore, Vincent and Dominick McIlvenny. He is also survived by his step children, Raymond and Elizabeth Terranova.A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 am, Saturday, May 25, 2018 at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, Kingsport, TN with The Rev. Mary Louise Sitton officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the Memorial Service at the church.
