Patsy Anderson Neely Patsy Anderson Neely, 83 of Kingsport, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday, March 18, 2018 surrounded by her family after a lengthy illness. Patsy was born in Kingsport on September 7, 1934 to the late John Henry Anderson and Jeanette Davidson Anderson. She graduated from Dobyns-Bennett High School in 1953, attended Carson-Newman College and then received a BS in Nursing from ETSU School of Nursing in 1959. Patsy met Ernest Robert (Bob) Neely, her husband of 61 years, at Carson-Newman where they married before leaving for UT Medical School. Due to several moves in the US Army and in their medical career she decided to leave nursing and spend her time raising her family (that was sometimes expanded), teaching middle school aged girls in Sunday school wherever she lived, and served as Den Mother in Cub Scout Troops for many years. She also was active in the Sullivan County Republican Women’s Group while Bob worked at Eastman. She was of the Southern Baptist faith, growing up in Kingsport First Baptist Church and present member of Sunnyside Baptist Church. Telling others how she loved Jesus and how He returned that love is her greatest message in life. Patsy’s salvation is the greatest event that ever happened in her life. In addition to her parents, Patsy was preceded in death by her sisters, Ruth Hutchinson Henderson, Madge Quiggle, JoAnn Wade, Jewel Mullins, Mary Bamford and Barbara Wray; brother, John H. Anderson, Jr. and wife Mary (a wonderful friend to Patsy) and daughters-in-law, Kathy Tehan Neely and Leigh Ann Fanning Neely. Left to cherish her memory are her devoted husband, Bob; three sons, Robert and wife Sherie of Concord, NC, David and wife Danuta of Johnson City, and Tim of Castle Rock, CO; granddaughter, Margaret Grace of Castle Rock, CO and grandson, Alexander Robert of Johnson City; sisters, Shirley Dean of Wake Forest, NC. The family will receive friends from 12:00 – 2:00 pm, Tuesday, March 20, 2018 in the J. Wayne Hamilton Memorial Chapel, Oak Hill Funeral and Cremation Services. Funeral Services will follow at 2:00 pm with Pastor Ann Burns officiating. Graveside Services will follow in the Garden of Devotion, Oak Hill Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be Patsy’s nephews, Mike Quiggle, Steve Quiggle, Dick Quiggle, Jason Anderson and Matt Harrison.
