Andrew Jackson "Jack" Osborne, Sr., 85, of Kingsport, went to be with the Lord Friday, November 2, 2018, at the V.A. Medical Center, Mountain Home, TN. He was born November 20, 1932, in Blackwater, VA to the late Arthur and Sallie Asbury Osborne.Andrew was a loving and caring Christian gentleman who loved Jesus with all his heart. He was a member of West View Primitive Baptist Church.Andrew enjoyed reading his Bible and watching old Western movies. He was a proud veteran of the U.S. Army and a member of the American Legion Hammond Post #3, Kingsport.Mr. Osborne retired from the Kingsport Press as a fork truck driver following many years of service.In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Smith, Roy and Wayne Osborne.Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Laquinta Mayo Osborne; son, Andrew Jackson Osborne, Jr. (Mona); step-daughter, Diana Cowden (Richard); six grandchildren; eighteen great-grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; brothers, Bill, J.T. and Hayes Osborne; several nieces and nephews.The family will receive friends 5:00-6:45 pm Monday, November 5, 2018, in the chapel of Oak Hill Funeral Home. The Funeral Service will follow at 7:00 pm with Elder Burnice Sybert and Elder Oscar Irvin officiating. Music will be provided by the Glenwood Singers and Zula McCullough.A Military Graveside Service conducted by The American Legion Hammond Post #3 & Gate City Post #265 will be held at 11:00 am Tuesday, November 6, 2018, at Oak Hill Memorial Park in the Garden of the Last Supper. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.The family extends their sincere gratitude to the staff at the V.A. Medical Center, Mountain Home, TN for their compassionate care of our husband and father.The care of Andrew Jackson Osborne, Sr. and his family has been entrusted to the staff of Oak Hill Funeral & Cremation Services.
