Ann Marlene Barrett

Ann “Marlene” Barrett, 76, of Kingsport went to be with the Lord on Monday, May 20, 2019, at Indian Path Medical Center.Ann was born on May 31, 1942 in Sullivan County to the late Edward and Vivian Barrett. She enjoyed crocheting blankets for family and friends, dancing and working in her flowers. She was a member of the VFW Post 4944. Ann was a very loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend.She was also preceded in death by her son, Steven McCracken; grandson, Thomas Dishner; and her very special cousin, Sandra Barr.Those left to cherish her memory are her daughters, Malinda Fugate, Yvonne Simpson, Sheila and Charles Dishner, Jr.; grandchildren, Sabrina and James Holder, Jessica and Ben Strahan, Jacqueline Montemarano,(significant other, Brandon Ramey), Joshua Dishner; great-grandchildren, Morgan McDavid, Bradley Holder, Victor Montemarano, Richard Montemarano, Aayliah Strahan, Skylar Strahan; brothers, Dwayne R. Barrett, Brent and Linda Barrett; several nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.The family would like to extend a special thank you to her two special friends, Gloria Ramey and Alma Bellamy; special caregivers, Carol Duncan and Kathleen Johnson; and the fifth floor staff of Indian Path Medical Center for their care and compassion during Marlene’s sickness.Visitation will be held anytime at the home of Marlene Barrett.The care of Ann “Marlene” Barrett and her family has been entrusted to the staff of Oak Hill Funeral & Cremation Services.Read Obituary
