Anna J. Mays, 92, of Kingsport, went to be with the Lord Sunday, February 2, 2020, at her residence. She was born April 30, 1927, in Blountville, TN to the late Hugh and Willie Whiteman Snapp.Anna was a wonderful wife and mother. She enjoyed gardening, working in her flowers, bowling, playing basketball and softball where she excelled as a pitcher.Anna retired from Eastman Chemical Company in the Accounting Department following over forty-one years of service.She was a member of Salem United Methodist Church.In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Fred Snapp.Those left to cherish her memory are her loving husband of seventy years, Keith Mays; daughter, Patricia Mays; brother, Gene Snapp; several nieces and nephews also survive.The family will receive friends Thursday, February 6, 2020, from 10:00-11:00 am in the Fireside Room at Oak Hill Funeral Home.The Entombment & Committal Service will follow at Oak Hill Memorial Park in Mausoleum I. Keith & Patricia: So sorry for your loss and sorry too that I can't be there this week. Anna was a very special person and I know you will miss her terribly. She and my Mom were so close from childhood all the way up to the end of their lives. Anna was such a strong and tough and smart lady! Mom told me many stories about their adventures growing up together, including a story about Anna playing marbles when she was a kid, and was so good she took all the boys marbles, much to their dismay! And of course she grew up to be great at many sports. She was always so kind to my whole family and we know you will miss her so very much. You will both be in my prayers in the days and weeks ahead. Lean on the Lord and he will help you through.

My Aunt Anna will always share a special place in my heart..from the time I was a small child I remember my Aunt always came to Florida to visit us..she loved our Florida sunshine & fresh fruit..she & my Dad Fred Snapp were very close...I have always enjoyed visiting Anna, Keith & Patricia..Now she & Daddy can be bright shining lights in
