Bill F. Spivey, 94, of Kingsport, TN was peacefully delivered into the arms of the Lord on July 24, 2018, after a life well lived. Bill was born in Asheville, NC on April 6, 1924, and came to Kingsport in 1929. He was a graduate of Dobyns-Bennet High School and a service member of the Army Air Force. Bill was a lifetime member of the First Baptist Church of Kingsport where he served as deacon and Sunday school teacher. He retired from the Kingsport Press/ARCATA Graphics/Quebecor. As a devoted husband, father, and grandfather; he set an incredible example of a Christ-like attitude of kindness, love, integrity, and always a helping hand to those around him. He will be so missed. He was preceded in death by his parents Fred and Maud Spivey; his wife Myrtle McAninch Spivey; sister, Myrtle Christian; and grandson Jeffrey Collier. Bill is survived by his two daughters, Pam Collins of Atlanta, GA; Denise Collier of Lexington, KY (husband Scott); granddaughter Allison Collins Kuder (husband Randy) of Atlanta, GA; grandson Rob Collins (fiancé Natalie Upshaw) of Atlanta, GA; granddaughter Lauren Collier Newberry (husband Jordan) of Lexington, KY; grandson Adam Collier of Lexington, KY; and niece Phyllis Midgett of Wilmington, North Carolina. A Graveside Service will be held on August 4, 2018, at 10:00 am at Oak Hill Memorial Park for Mr. Spivey’s family. The Memorial Service will be held the same day at First Baptist Church of Kingsport at 11:00 am for family and friends. Dr. Marvin Cameron will officiate. The family will receive friends following the Memorial Service with a light reception held afterwards in the church atrium. Pallbearers will be Rob Collins, Randy Kuder, Jordan Newberry, Alan Hensley, Scott Collier and Adam Collier. The family of Bill Spivey wishes to give special thanks to Bill’s tireless and devoted caregivers at Northlake Gardens of Tucker, GA: Amenia Cvrk, Evelyn Brathwaite, Sabrina Bell and Amelia Worthy among many others. The care of Bill F. Spivey and his family has been entrusted to the staff of Oak Hill Funeral & Cremation Services.
