Billie S. Mynes

Billie S. Mynes, 92, of Kingsport passed away peacefully on Friday, July 19, 2019 at Brookhaven Manor.Billie was born on November 13, 1926 in Roda, VA to the late Kyle and Emily Strong. She worked for First National Bank and First American for a combined 30 years before retiring in 1991. Billie enjoyed quilting, cooking, working in her flower garden and crossword puzzles.She was also preceded in death by her brothers, Kyle Strong Jr., and J.C. Strong; and her sister, Linda Reed.Those left to cherish Billie’s memory are her daughter, Sherry Baker (Tom); sons, Sandy Darnell (Theresa), Alan Darnell (Donna); seven grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; brother, Terry Strong (Sue); several nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.The family will receive friends from 11:00 am until 12:00 noon on Monday, July 22, 2019 in the J. Wayne Hamilton Memorial Chapel of Oak Hill Funeral & Cremation Services.A Celebration of Life Service will be conducted at 12:00 noon in the chapel with Rev. Riley Boy officiating.In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Billie’s memory to the Alzheimer’s Association at www.alz.org.The family extends their sincere gratitude to Dr. Kimberly Roller, the staff of Brookhaven, especially, Christopher, Vanessa and Linda for their compassionate care of Billie.The care of Billie S.
