Billy “Bill” R. Dingus, 82, of Kingsport, went to his heavenly home on Wednesday, December 5, 2018, at his residence with his family by his side. Bill was born on July 31, 1936, to the late Samuel Crockett and Amanda Morefield Dingus in Burdine, Kentucky. He was a very proud Veteran of the United States Air Force. Bill was a member of Lynn Garden Baptist Church, and he loved to serve the Lord. Bill never met a stranger, and he always had a smile on his face. He was very witty and loved a good prank. Bill loved life, and he was a very devoted father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend.He was also preceded in death by his brother Earl J. Dingus; his sisters, Elizabeth I. Moore and his twin, Betty F. Swiney; and granddaughter, Crystal Ann Dingus.Those left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 58 years, Elisa “Liz” Dingus; daughters, Sabrina Dingus and Trista Dingus (Eric Franklin); son, Sam Dingus (Michelle); grandchildren, Elaina Raines, Rachel Mullins, Darien Dingus( Danielle), Sean Dingus, and Christian Dingus; great-grandchildren, Benjamin Martin, Damien Dingus, and Madeline Dingus; brothers, Charles Dingus (JoAnn) and Irvin Dingus (Louise); several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.The family will receive friends from 12 noon until 2:00 pm on Wednesday, December 12, 2018, at Lynn Garden Baptist Church, 301 May Avenue, Kingsport, TN 37665.A Funeral Service will follow at 2:00 pm with Pastor Rick Meade officiating.A Military Graveside Service will follow at Oak Hill Memorial Park in the Garden of Mediation. Military Rites will be conducted by the American Legion Post #3 & Gate City Post # 265. Pallbearers will be Scott Buchanan, Allan Castle, Buford Hensley, Eric Franklin, Darin Vicars, and Bill Thurman.
