Bob G. Kirk, 84, of Kingsport, went home to be with the Lord, Friday, February 2, 2018 at Holston Valley Medical Center following a courageous battle with lung cancer surrounded by his loving family.Bob was born in Erwin to the late Ralph and Mabel Davis Kirk but resided in Kingsport most of his life. He worked as a barber on Sullivan Street when he met his love, Lou and married in 1963. Bob was an Army Veteran and retired from Eastman with 35 years of service. He was loving and caring husband, father, grandfather, brother and uncle. Bob attended Lynn Garden Baptist Church for many years.Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 54 years, Lou Moore Kirk; daughter, Julie Nowak of Gray; granddaughters, Katie Nowak of Salem, VA and Allie Epperson (Jonathan) of Chattanooga; sister, Betty Kirk Hagan of Winter Springs, FL.; nephew, Aaron Hagan of Hong Kong; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.A Graveside Service with Military Graveside Rites conducted by the American Legion Post 3/265 will be held at 1:00 pm, Tuesday, February 6, 2018 at Oak Hill Memorial Park, Sermon on the Mount with Rev. Rick Meade officiating. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers. Those wishing to attend are asked to meet at Oak Hill Funeral Home at 12:30 pm.In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Bob’s honor to Lynn Garden Baptist Church, www.lynngardenbc.org/ The care of Bob Kirk and his family has been entrusted to Oak Hill Funeral and Cremation Services.
