Bobby Ray Stitt

Bobby Ray Stitt, 85, of Kingsport, passed away Sunday, September 1, 2019, at Holston Valley Medical Center. He was born October 8, 1933, in Elizabethton, TN to the late Paul and Ethel Cox Stitt.Bobby was very patriotic and a proud veteran, serving 4 years active and 2 years in the reserves, in the U.S. Air Force. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, watching wildlife and was especially fond of animals. Bobby was an avid fan of NASCAR and the UT Lady Vols basketball team.He retired from A.F.G. Industries as a glass maker and was an accomplished Taxidermist. Bobby was of the Baptist faith.In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by an infant brother and sisters, Louise Arnold Webb and Betty Jean Overbey.Those left to cherish his memory are his daughters, Sherry Gillum and Pamela Powell; grandchildren, Annette Gillum Smith, Clifton Gillum, Kelsie Gillum and Mitchell Gillum; sister, Ruth Overbey.There will be no visitation or funeral service held.In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to a local pet rescue/shelter or to The Wounded Warrior Project.The care of Bobby Ray Stitt and his family has been entrusted to the staff of Oak Hill Funeral & Cremation Services.Read Obituary
