Brenda Gibson Herron, 69, of Kingsport, passed away on Wednesday, August 1, 2018.Brenda was born in Kingsport, TN on July 12, 1949, to the late Charles and Irene Epps Gibson. She was employed by Frontier Healthcare for 25 years, and she was a life- long member of Ketron Memorial United Methodist Church. Brenda was a loving mother, grandmother and friend. She enjoyed travelling, knitting, and most importantly spending time with her family.Those left to cherish Brenda’s memory are her daughters; Barbie (Nathan) Lambert, and Mandie Herron; son, Robert Herron; grandchildren, Eric Lambert and Rebecca Carter; special friends, Nancy Fletcher, Janice Clark and Wanda Montgomery.A Gathering of Remembrance will be held from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm on Monday, August 6, 2018 in the Fireside Room of Oak Hill Funeral and Cremation Services. I am so sorry to hear about Brenda's passing. As she said many times, "She was a tough ole bird", but she was a good friend, cousin, mother, and grandmother. I admired her sense of humor and her devotion to family. She dealt with her health issues in a positive way and didn't let them get her down. We loved her and will miss her. Our prayers are with Robbie, Barbie, Mandy, and their families. May God bless all of you with the knowledge that you did not lose your Mother, we know where she is.

Brenda and her family were a vital part of my early youth. We listened to records for hours, talked into the night, went for rides in her new Mustang, and generally hung out a lot. Although I was a younger cousin by two years, she included me in her circle of friends and I always felt that her home, with Charles and Irene, was a 2nd home for me. I miss her already.
