Brian Travis Haynes, 43, of Kingsport, went home to be with the Lord, Monday, January 21, 2019, at his residence surrounded by his loving family, after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born in Kingsport on March 28th, 1975 to Elisa & Ronnie Haynes.Brian graduated from Sullivan North High School where he was in the marching band. He was known as the dude who drove a hearse to school and to work at McDonald’s. Brian owned several hearses through the years and actually drove one as the getaway car at his wedding.He worked as a C. O. Tech at Mountainet (Scott County Telephone Co.) until he became disabled in 2014. He was co-owner of Moon Tuxedo with his wife, Joni. Brian was a member of St. Dominic’s Catholic Church.Brian enjoyed hosting a local talk radio show discussing local, state, and federal politics. He was an expert at building computers and computer repair. Brian enjoyed drawing, sculpting clay and loved spending time with his family.He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Rev. Samuel Edgar and Mollie Maude Tunnell Gordon and paternal grandparents, Thomas and Evelyn McMurray Haynes.Those left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 15 years, Joni Starnes Haynes; son, Corbin Matthias Haynes; twin sisters, Arisha McCoy and Tennille Shipley; parents, Ronnie and Elisa Gordon Haynes and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.The family will receive friends from 5:00 pm – 7:00 pm Thursday, January 24, 2019, at St. Dominic’s Catholic Church, 2517 N. John B. Dennis Hwy, Kingsport, TN.A Funeral Mass will be conducted at 12:00 pm Friday, January 25, 2019, at St. Dominic’s Catholic Church with Father Emmanuel Massawe officiating.A Graveside Service will follow at Oak Hill Memorial Park in the Garden of Resurrection. Pallbearers will be family and friends.Brian’s family would like to thank everyone for the countless prayers, thoughtful words and gifts he received over the past 5 years.The care of Brian Haynes and his family has been entrusted to Oak Hill Funeral and Cremation Services.
