Charles Edwin Rothwell, III, 76 of Kingsport, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, December 9, 2020, from injuries sustained from a fall.Charles was born in Coeburn, Virginia, on October 8, 1944, to the late Charles Edwin and Gladys Buchanan Rothwell, Jr. Charlie attended Gravely Baptist Church for a number of years. He retired from Eastman Chemical Company as a stock analyst with over 34 years of service. Charlie was an avid fly fisherman and enjoyed hunting.He loved God, his family and his country. Charlie was a loving husband, son, son-in-law, brother-in-law and friend. Those left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 51years, Linda Kay Anderson Rothwell; sister-in-law, Norma Cato; brother-in-law, Robert Anderson, Jr. (Nancy); mother-in-law, Elizabeth Anderson; cousins, Joyce Fail (Joe), Jimmy Buchanan (Gayle), Billy Buchanan (Sue) and Paul Buchanan (Kathy); several nieces, nephews and cousins.The family will receive friends from 12:00 - 1:00 pm, Sunday, December 13, 2020, at Gravelly Baptist Church. A Celebration of Life Service will follow at 1:00 pm with Pastor David Salley, Billy Wayne Arrington and Youth Pastor Morris Baker officiating. Music will be provided by Terry Bennett, Billy Wayne Arrington, Wayne Bledsoe, Angie Baker, Bob Brickey and the Gravelly Baptist Church Choir.A Graveside Service will follow at Holston View Cemetery, Weber City, VA. Pallbearers will be Paul Jennings, Mike Collins, Zack Collins, Vernon Patrick, Ron Puckett, Travis Sampson, Terry Bennett and Terry Anderson. Honorary Pallbearers will be Bruce Earcik, Eddie Darnell, Larry Franklin, Lonnie Sampson, Doug Hubbard, Clarence Nelms and Matt Rutrough.In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Gravelly Baptist Church, 647 Gravely Rd, Kingsport, TN 37660 or to Lamplight Theatre, 140 Broad St, Kingsport, TN 37660.The family would like to thank the Kingsport Fire Department, Sullivan County EMT, Holston Valley ER staff, Med Flight Team, JCMC staff, the nurses of ICU 2700, and the friends, family and church family that stood by Linda during this difficult time.The care of Charles Edwin Rothwell, III and his family has been entrusted to the staff of Oak Hill Funeral and Cremation Services.
