Charles Allen Vaughn, 72, of Kingsport, passed away on Tuesday, February 19, 2019 at the home of his daughter Valecia (Scott) Reynolds after a long battle with cancer. Charles was received in the arms of His Lord and Savior with his family by his side. He served in the U.S. Army and fought in the Vietnam War. Charles retired from Eastman Chemical Company in 2001.He had a passion for collecting things and was an avid tractor collector. He was known for his kind heart and willingness to help others. He enjoyed working outdoors and loved spending time with his family.Charles was a wonderful husband, father and grandfather. He is predeceased by his father Emory, mother Grace and brother in law Gerald Cox.Charles is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Donna, two children Valecia (Scott) Reynolds and Travis (Julie) Vaughn; grandchildren, Whitney (Matt) Robinson, Blake Reynolds, Dylan and Hannah Vaughn; great grandchildren Sloahn-Ryleigh and Suttohn; siblings, Shirley (Larry) Harper, Linda Cox, and Tony (Susie) Vaughn and several nieces and nephews.Due to inclement weather, a Celebration of Life Graveside Service will be held at 1:00 pm Monday, February 25, 2019, in the J. Wayne Hamilton Memorial Chapel of Oak Hill Funeral and Cremation Service with Tim Vaughn officiating. Military Rites will be conducted by the American Legion Post #3 and Gate City Post #265. Charles will be laid to rest at Oak Hill Memorial Park.
