Chief Lee Vest

Chief Lee Vest, 80, of Kingsport, went to be with the Lord Wednesday, January 20, 2022, with his loving family by his side.He was born April 22, 1941, in Beckley W. VA to the late William Paul and Georgia Holcomb Vest.Chief Vest served in the U. S. Marines during the Vietnam Era.He was Chief of the Remnant Yuchi Nation. Chief Vest was a master Silversmith. He was a member of Indian Springs Baptist Church.Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Caryn Vest.Those left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 40 years, Cindy Vest; daughters, Brittany Castle (Jason) and Melissa Hickman (Rocky); grandchildren, Riley Ward, Kilah Castle, Katie Castle, Hannah Castle and J. D. Castle; sisters, Karen Jones and Kathy Melton; brother, Tom Vest (Nikki); several nieces, nephews and cousins. Private family Military Graveside Rites will be conducted at 2:00 pm Thursday, January 27, 2022, by the American Legion Post #3 & Post #265, at Oak Hill Memorial Park in the Garden of Resurrection.The family would like to extend a sincere thank you to the doctors, nurses and staff of Bristol Hospice House.The care of Chief Lee Vest and his family has been entrusted to the staff of Oak Hill Funeral and Cremation Services.Read Obituary
