Clara Woods

Clara Woods, 92, of Kingsport, went home to be with the Lord Sunday, August 11, 2019, at her residence following a long illness. She was a lifelong resident of Kingsport. Mrs. Woods was a 50+ year member of Cross Connection Church. She was former owner of Woods Grocery Store.Mrs. Woods enjoyed traveling and loved spending time with her family.She was preceded in death by her daughter, Connie Hickman; parents, John and Elva Payne; sisters, Helen Roberts and Betty Crawford and a brother, John Payne, Jr.Those left to cherish her memory are her loving husband of 72 years, Elmer Woods, son, Danny Woods and his wife, Carolyn; grandchildren, Heather Harrell and husband, Henry and Kip Woods and wife, Christy; great grandchildren, Danielle Henderson and husband, Josh, Jarred Harrell and Rebecca Harrell; several nieces and nephews.The family will receive friends from 5:00 pm – 6:45 pm Wednesday, August 14, 2019, at Oak Hill Funeral and Cremation Services in the J. Wayne Hamilton Memorial Chapel.A Celebration of Life Service will follow at 7:00 pm with Pastor Phil Harris officiating.A Graveside Service will be held at 11:00 am Thursday, August 15, 2019, at Oak Hill Memorial Park in the Garden of Everlasting Life.
