Cleo Wright Brooks, 86, a former resident of Kingsport, passed away Monday, June 18, 2018 in Louisville, KY.She was a retired dietary worker for Southwest Hospital, had worked for the old Grants Department Store, and attended New Salem Baptist Church.Cleo was preceded in death by her husband, Gerald Brooks. She is survived by her children, Sharon Herrin, Gerald W Brooks (Martha), and Penny Dever (Phillip); grandchildren, Erica Causey (Jason), Erin Fint, Josh Deacon (Nikki), Fallon Dever, and Michael Dever; and great-grandchildren Hannah, Haleigh, Hunter, Jackson, Chloe, Taylor, Brentley, Sawyer, Kohen, and Kira.Her funeral service will be held at 7 pm Wednesday at Heady-Hardy Funeral Home, 7710 Dixie Hwy., Louisville, KY. Visitation will be Wednesday from 2:00 pm until the time of the funeral.The family will also receive friends Friday, June 22, 2018, from 11:00 am until 1:00 pm in the Fireside Room at Oak Hill Funeral & Cremation Services, Kingsport, TN.A Graveside and Committal Service will follow at Oak Hill Memorial Park in the Garden of Everlasting Life.The care of Cleo Wright Brooks and her family has been entrusted to the staff of Oak Hill Funeral & Cremation Services.Read Obituary
