Clyde E. Horne, Jr., 76, of Kingsport, passed away Wednesday, October 23, 2019, at Holston Valley Medical Center. He was born April 17, 1943, in Norton, VA to the late Clyde E. and Emma Horne, Sr.Clyde was a loving husband and father who worked hard to provide for his family. He enjoyed working on old cars, fishing and spending time at his cabin on High Knob Mountain in VA.Mr. Horne retired from Eastman Chemical Company as a Maintenance Supervisor following over forty years of service.In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Gaye Tate.Those left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of fifty-four years, Brenda Horne; son, Scott Horne; grandchildren, Ashlynn Horne, Mason Horne and Bella Horne; sister, Patsy Helton; numerous nieces and nephews also survive.The family will receive friends Sunday, October 27, 2019, from 4:00-5:00 pm in the J. Wayne Hamilton Memorial Chapel of Oak Hill Funeral & Cremation Services. A Celebration of Life Service will follow at 5:00 pm with Pastor Johnny R. Duncan officiating.A Graveside & Committal Service will be conducted Monday, October 28, 2019, at 3:00 pm at Oak Hill Memorial Park. I worked as an apprentice with Clyde many years ago. My memories of him were of a humble, unassuming man, with much skill and knowledge that he didn’t flaunt, but would help you in an instant when you needed it or asked. I didn’t get to know Clyde much on a personal level, but he left a lasting impression on me, and I am glad we crossed paths in life. May you Rest In Peace.

We worked together for many years. He also taught me in school at Eastman. I injoyed ever minute when he was around. He always was smiling a Big smile all ways. And if I needed help, He was always their to help me get it going again. He then became my boss. And he was a Great Boss. He never let another Boss attack one of his people. He was a very smart Instrument man and a Half ass Electrician. But I never told him that. He helped me on many things in life not just the Job. He was a Honest Man. And his wife had a big Bird that would keep him in the bathroom if she told it to. LOL. He loved his family. And spoke of them often. He is one of the Great Men I Had A Chance to work with at Eastman. He will Be Missed For Sure. Your Good Friend George Cox Rest In Peace Clyde's.
