Delta Childress

Delta Cox Childress, 80, of Kingsport, went to be with the Lord Thursday, July 18, 2019, at Church Hill Health Care. She was born June 26, 1939, in Kingsport, to the late Carson and Annabelle Williams Cox.Delta was a loving mother and grandmother who enjoyed traveling and shopping. Her greatest joy in life was serving the Lord in music and song. She was a member of the Apostolic Church of the Lord Jesus Christ where she played the organ and piano for many years.Delta retired from Eastman Chemical Company following thirty-five years of service.Those left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Deborah Coger; granddaughter, Rebecca Byrd and husband, Jonathan; great-grandchildren, Carson Byrd and Addison Byrd; special aunt, Amalee Spivey.The family will receive friends Monday, July 22, 2019, from 4:00-5:45 pm in the chapel of Oak Hill Funeral Home. The Funeral Service will follow at 6:00 pm with Pastor Everett Lett officiating.
