Dewey E. Smith

Dewey E. Smith, 72, of Kingsport, passed away Saturday, February 5, 2022, at the Church Hill Health Care Center.He was born April 23, 1949, in Kingsport, to the late Harold and Matilda Jackson Smith.Dewey was a proud veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps having served from 1968-1970.In addition to his parents, Dewey was preceded in death by his brothers, James Smith and Eugene Smith; sister, Eva Jane Smith.Those left to cherish Dewey’s memory are his brother, Ivan Smith and wife, Mary; several nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.The family will receive friends Thursday, February 10, 2022, from 5:00-6:45 pm in the funeral home chapel.The Funeral Service will follow at 7:00 pm with Pastor Margaret Price officiating. Garry and Diane Necessary will provide the music.Military Graveside Rites will be conducted by The American Legion Hammond Post #3 and Gate City, VA Post #265 at 2:00 pm on Friday, February 11, 2022, at Oak Hill Memorial Park.
