Dorothy Cornell Manning

Dorothy Cornell Manning, 92 formerly of Penn Yan, NY passed away Saturday, August 4, 2018.Dorothy was a graduate with honors from Keuka College and SUNY Geneseo. She served as a librarian and an English teacher for the Hammondsport School System. She also served as Director of Library and a faculty member at Keuka College, Penn Yan, NY.Preceding her in death are her first husband, Edwin George Cornell and her parents, James Edward and Dorothy Losey Sandford.Surviving are her husband, Donald L. Manning; children, Peter S. (Barbara) Cornell, Michael E. (Lois) Cornell, Lynne C. (Gregory) Lush and Robert J. Cornell; eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren; brother, Ronald (Martha) Sanford and sister-in-law, Shirley Waltman.A Memorial Service will be held at a later date in New York.In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Dorothy’s honor may be made to the Building Fund of the Pulteney Free Library at www.Pulteney.org. A meeting room has been dedicated in the memory of Edwin G. and Dorothy S. Cornell and also to Henry J. and Charlotte C.
