Douglas Alan Pendergrass, 56, of Kingsport, passed away Thursday, January 11, 2018, at Holston Valley Medical Center. He was born July 27, 1961, in Kingsport.Douglas was a kind, “happy go lucky “ guy who made friends very easily. He enjoyed working on cars and was a NASCAR, UT Vols and Tennessee Titans fan.He retired in 2011, due to medical issues and attended Cedar Grove Baptist Church.Douglas was preceded in death by his father, Walter Pendergrass; maternal grandparents and his paternal grandparents.Those left to cherish his memory are his mother, Eva McMurray Pendergrass; brother, Michael Pendergrass; several aunts, uncles and cousins also survive.The family will receive friends from 5:00-6:45 pm on Monday, January 15, 2018, at Oak Hill Funeral & Cremation Services. A Celebration of Life Service will follow at 7:00 pm in the J. Wayne Hamilton Memorial Chapel with Pastor Hobbie McCreary officiating..A Graveside Service will be conducted at 10:00 am Tuesday, January 16, 2018, at Oak Hill Memorial Park in the Garden of Meditation.The family extends their sincere gratitude to the doctors, nurses and staffs at Holston Valley Medical Center, Indian Path Medical Center and Brookhaven Manor.The care of Douglas Alan Pendergrass and his family has been entrusted to the staff of Oak Hill Funeral & Cremation Services.
