Eckle R. Jenkins, 76, of Kingsport, passed away at home surrounded by his family on Monday, December 11, 2017 as a result of Alzheimer’s. Eckle was a righteous man. His Bible is worn and pages filled with handwritten questions he had for those he sought wisdom from. His goal in life was to walk the streets of Heaven. He was a member of Apostolic Lighthouse Church. Eckle was a member of Masonic Lodge #688 and Scottish Rite of Knoxville. Eckle retired from Domtar with 50 years of service. He was also preceded in death by his first wife, Seretia Shelton Jenkins; parents, Frank and Lillie Jenkins; and his sisters Murrel Robinette and Eula M. Jenkins. Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Brenda; children, Shane Dingus and Summer (Chris) Osborne of Kingsport; nephew, Jeff (Carol) Robinette; brother-in-law, Don Robinette of Fall Branch; grandchildren, Blake and Brayden Dingus, Christopher, Angela and Olivia Carter, and Cavin Osborne. A Graveside Service will be held at 11:00 am on Wednesday, December 13, 2017 in the J. Wayne Hamilton Memorial Chapel of Oak Hill Funeral and Cremation Services with Pastor David Peters officiating. Masonic Rites will be officiated by Cliff McMillion. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Apostolic Lighthouse Church, 145 Shipp Springs Rd., Kingsport, Tennessee. The care of Eckle R. Jenkins and his family has been entrusted to the staff of Oak Hill Funeral & Cremation Services.
