Edna Ruth Laughlin Greene

Edna Ruth Laughlin Greene, 88, of Kingsport, passed away peacefully at her residence Friday, June 19, 2020, surrounded by her loving family.She was born May 7, 1932 in Hiltons, VA to the late Thomas Henry and Bertie Osborne Laughlin.Early on Mrs. Greene worked at W. T. Grant Co. and later in life she devoted her life to her home and family.Mrs. Greene and her husband, Ray, were active members of Mountain View United Methodist church for 40+ years.She lived in Colonial Heights where she enjoyed biking, walking with friends and neighbors, and loved being with and seeing her grandson grow up.Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband of 59 years, Ray Kenneth Greene, Sr.; granddaughter, Alicia Marie Greene; sister, Emogene Cox; brothers, Joe Laughlin, Henry Laughlin, Ezra Laughlin and John Laughlin.Those left to cherish her memory are her son, Ray Kenneth Greene, Jr. and wife, Gloria; grandson, Eric Greene; several nieces and nephews.A Private Family Entombment Committal Service will be held at Oak Hill Memorial Park in the Chapel Mausoleum. Honorary Pallbearers will be Russell Greene, Tom Laughlin, Bill Laughlin, and Eric Greene.In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Mountain View United Methodist Church, 4405 Orebank Rd., Kingsport, TN 37664.The family would like to extend a special thank you to the nurses and staff of Amedisys Hospice.The care of Edna Laughlin and her family has been entrusted to the staff of Oak Hill Funeral and Cremation Services.Read Obituary
