Edris H. Marrero

Edris H. Marrero, 75 of Kingsport, went to be with the Lord on August 13, 2022.Edris was born on August 3, 1947, in Puerto Rico to the late Pablo E. and Modesta Delgado-Marrero.Edris served in the Army in the 173rd Airborne Brigade during the Vietnam War and was awarded several decorations including an Army Commendation Medal for Heroism in the Republic of Vietnam and Campaign Medal, National Defense Service Medal and a Combat Infantryman’s Badge. Following his service in the Army he re-enlisted in the Navy in which he was honorably discharged and given a Certificate of Recognition for 15 years of service in the Government of the United States of America.Left to cherish Edris’s memory are his aunt, Esther Delgado and cousin, Sharon Joly-Byess and husband, Doug.Celebration of Edris’s Life will be conducted at 4:00 pm, Saturday, September 10, 2022 in the chapel of Oak Hill Funeral and Cremation Services with Rev. Thomas Buice officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following in the chapel.Graveside Military Honors will be held at 1:00 pm, on Monday, September 12, 2022 at Mountain Home National Cemetery, Mountain Home, TN. Honors will be conducted by the American Legion Hammond Post 3 Kingsport and Post 265 Gate City.The care of Edris H.
