Edwin Gerral Quillen

Edwin Gerral Quillen, 82, of Kingsport, passed away peacefully at his home Monday, September 30, 2019.He was a native and lifelong resident of Kingsport. Mr. Quillen graduated from Blountville High School. He served in the U. S. Army.Mr. Quillen retired from Arcata Graphics and retired from KATS after 10 years of service. He enjoyed working on watches, clocks, fishing, riding motor cycles and working on cars. Mr. Quillen earned his pilot’s license and enjoyed flying.He was preceded in death by his first wife, Shirley Ann Jones Quillen and second wife, Mary Ellen Shelby Quillen; parents, Ed and Caldonia Ketron Quillen; sisters, Betty Eaton, Nancy Burchfield and an infant sister.Surviving are his daughter, Denise Shelby; son, Larry Shelby; grandchildren, Jennifer McQueen, Judith Patrick, Jessica Fuel and husband, Justin and Brian Shelby and wife, Dr. Wendy Neff; great grandchildren, Jacob, Ethan, Abbie, Kaylie, Isaac, Collin, Rebecca and Sawyer; sister, Louise Tate; brother, Gary Quillen and wife, Mary Emma, several nieces and nephews.The family will receive friends from 1:00 pm – 1:45 pm Friday, October 4, 2019, at Oak Hill Funeral and Cremation Services in the J. Wayne Hamilton Memorial Chapel.A Celebration of Life Service will follow at 2:00 pm with Rev. Ray Amos, Sr. officiating.A Graveside Service will follow at Oak Hill Memorial Park in the Garden of Everlasting Life.In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Christine LaGuardia Phillips Cancer Center, P.
