Emma Jean Harris, 90, of Kingsport went to be with the Lord on Sunday, August 11, 2019, at Indian Path Medical Center.Emma Jean was born December 31, 1928 in Russell County, Virginia to the late Marshal and Martha Lampkins. She attended Good Shepherd Baptist Church, and she loved her cats, quilting, crocheting and day trips with family and friends. Emma Jean’s greatest joy was spending time with her family.She was also preceded in death by her husband, James Monroe Harris; and her four sisters, Ada White, Elizabeth Meade, Lois Hawkins and Clara Williams.Those left to cherish Emma Jean’s memory are her daughter, Sherry Hanie and husband, Leeroy; granddaughter, Amber Hanie; grandson, Christopher Hanie; several nieces and nephews also survive.The family will receive friends from 1:00 pm until 3:00 pm on Wednesday, August 14, 2019, in the Fireside Room at Oak Hill Funeral & Cremation Services. A Graveside Service will follow at 3:00 pm at Oak Hill Memorial Park in the Garden of the Last Supper.
