Ernest “Vance” Murray, 78, of Kingsport, passed away Thursday, April 8, 2021, at Johnson City Medical Center.He was born September 23, 1942, in Kingsport, to the late Ernest Lee and Lacuna Henderson Murray.Vance was a loving father, grandfather, brother and friend. He served in the U.S. Navy during the Cuban Missile Crisis. Vance was President of National Silver Gloves Association.He enjoyed antiques, hunting and especially fishing.Vance was the owner and operator of Murray Construction Company.In addition to Vance’s parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings, Julia Weber, Harvey Murray, Zack Murray and Carol Harless.Those left to cherish his memory are his daughter, Lisa Lane; sons, Tim Murray (Rebecca), Andy Murray and Matthew Murray (Julie); grandchildren, Andrew Glover, Riley, Titus and Grace Murray; sister, Venus Murray; several nieces, nephews and cousins.The family will receive friends Tuesday, April 13, 2021, from 6:00 – 8:00 pm in the chapel of Oak Hill Funeral Home.A Funeral Service will follow with Dr. Phil Hoskins officiating.The Funeral Service may be viewed live by visiting https://view.oneroomstreaming.com/authorise.php?k=1618332225110457The Military Committal Service will be held at 11:00 am Wednesday, April 14, 2021, at Mountain Home National Cemetery.
