Evelyn Widener, age 83, of Kingsport passed away Friday, February 14, 2020 after a lengthy illness at Wexford House, Kingsport, Tennessee.Evelyn was born on September 4, 1936 in Elizabethton, TN to the late Herman and Bernice Younce Taylor. She attended Celebration Church for many years and retired with over 40 years of service as a licensed insurance agent for Nationwide Insurance Company. Evelyn spent most of her time studying her Bible and reading.In addition to her parents, Evelyn was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas M. Widener and son, John Edward Stout, III.Left to cherish Evelyn’s memory are her daughters, Jan Stout, Julia Marsh and husband, Bill; son Jim Stout.It was Evelyn’s wishes to be cremated and no services to be held.In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Evelyn’s honor may be made to the Samaritan’s Purse by visiting www.samaritanspurse.org or to the charity of one’s choice.The care of Evelyn Widener and her family has been entrusted to the staff of Oak Hill Funeral and Cremation Services.Read Obituary
