Faye Gilliam Wallen

Faye Gilliam Wallen, 73, of Kingsport, went to be with the Lord, Sunday November 24, 2019, after a period of declining health.She was a lifelong resident of Kingsport. Faye was a former employee of Holston Defense Corp. and attended Ross Campground United Methodist Church.Faye sang with the Gilliam Family and then From the Heart Quartet for 20+ years. She was a Reserve Deputy with the Sullivan County Sheriff’s Department for several years.Faye was an avid Lady Vols fan and loved spending time with her family.She was preceded in death by her husband, Allen Roy Wallen; parents, Mitchell and Bonnie Presley Gilliam; sisters, Shirley Mae Head and Martha Louise Qualls; brothers, Arthur Gilliam and Paul Edward Gilliam and a special brother in law, Gene Clark.Those left to cherish her memory are loving sister, Ileene Clark; special nephew, Joel Clark and wife, Deanna; several nieces, nephews, cousins and a special neighbors, Tom and Sheila Davis.The family will receive friends from 5:00 pm – 6:45 pm Tuesday, November 26, 2019, at Oak Hill Funeral and Cremation Services in the J. Wayne Hamilton Memorial Chapel.A Celebration of Life Service will follow at 7:00 pm with Rev. Jimmy Combs and Rev. William Bowen officiating.A Graveside Service will be at 1:00 pm Wednesday, November 27, 2019, at Oak Hill Memorial Park in the Garden of the Last Supper. Pallbearers will be family and friends.Those attending the Graveside Service are asked to meet at the cemetery at 12:50 pm.In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Faye’s memory, to the Food Pantry at Ross Campground United Methodist Church, C/O Sandra Boyd, 242 Ross Campground Rd, Church Hill, TN 37642.The family would like to extend a sincere thank you to caregivers of Amedysis Hospice for their compassion and loving care.The care of Alta Faye Wallen and her family has been entrusted to the staff of Oak Hill Funeral and Cremation Services.Read Obituary
