Gary "Bubby" Larkins, Jr.

Gary “Bubby” Larkins, Jr., passed away Monday, October 14, 2019, at Johnson City Medical Center following a period of declining health.He was born in Bell Co., Kentucky, was a former resident of Gate City, VA and had lived in Kingsport most of his life.Gary was of the Baptist faith.He enjoyed music, being outdoors, especially around the lake camping, fishing, water skiing, boat riding and his snake skin boots.Gary was a loving father, brother, uncle, great uncle and loved being around his family.He was preceded in death by his parents, Gary and Phyllis Page Larkins, Sr.Surviving are his son, Joseph Shannon Ashbrook; sisters, Regina Hartsock, Darlene Carter and husband, Jeff and Sabrina Helton and husband, Mark; brother, Ricky Larkins; several nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews; mother of his son, Amy Baldwin and special friend, Brenda Johnson.A Celebration of Life Gathering will be held at a later date.In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association by visiting www.heart.org/The family would like to extend a sincere thank you to the crisis doctor and nurses in the ICU at Johnson City Medical Center and for family and friends for their prayers and support.The care of Gary “Bubby” Larkins, Jr. and his family has been entrusted to Oak Hill Funeral and Cremation Services.Read Obituary
