Gene Clark

Gene E. Clark, 83, of Kingsport, went home to be with the Lord Wednesday, June 5, 2019, at his residence surrounded by his loving family. He was a native and lifelong resident of Kingsport.Gene was a former employee of Armstrong Construction Co. and retired from AFG Industries.He attended Ross Campground United Methodist Church. Gene enjoyed going to flea markets, “trading around,” going to car shows, talking to people and loved spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren.He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Ethel Brooks Clark and a sister, Ann Estes.Surviving are his loving wife of 59 years, Ileene Clark; son, Joel Clark and wife Deanna; granddaughters, Christy Clark and Andrea Skeens and husband, Justin; great grandchildren, Trever Clark, Ava Skeens and Jada Skeens; special niece, Karen McDavid and husband, Sam; special nephew, who seemed like a son, Scottie Clark; four brothers, Ray, Marvin, Jimmy and Billy; special sister in law, Faye Wallen; several nieces, nephews and cousins.The family will receive friends from 5 – 6:45 pm Monday, June 10, 2019, at Oak Hill Funeral and Cremation Services in the J. Wayne Hamilton Memorial Chapel.A Celebration of Life Service will follow at 7:00 pm with Rev. Karl Berndt and Rev. Jimmy Mullins officiating.A Graveside Service will be held at 1:00 pm Tuesday, June 11, 2019, at Oak Hill Memorial Park in the Garden of the Last Supper. Pallbearers will be family and friends. Family and friends are asked to meet at the funeral home to go in a procession.In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Ross Campground Food Pantry, C/O Sandra Boyd, 688 Willowcrest Pl., Kingsport, TN 37660.The family would like to extend a special thank you to the nurses of Smokey Mountain Hospice, especially Carrie Young, for their care and compassion.The care of Gene Clark and his family has been entrusted to Oak Hill Funeral and Cremation Services.Read Obituary
