Gene Holt, 85, of Kingsport, of Johnson City, TN, passed away the VA Medical Center on Thursday, June 4, 2020. He was born in Newport, TN and had lived in Johnson City most of his life.Gene served in the U. S. Marines and graduated from ETSU.He was a former plant manager at Thomas Industries, Johnson City, TN.Gene enjoyed sports, was an avid Tennessee Vols fan and loved spending time with his best friends, Tim Keys, David Carden and Ted Hopson.He was preceded in death by his son, Brian Holt and parents, Ruble and Willie Mae Holt.Those left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 41 years, Doris Holt; son, Chris Holt (Debi Gouge); grandchildren, Rachel Wolsefer (Freddie) and their children, Mila and Ellie; Bill Holt (Katie) and their children, Rhyus and Weston; brother, Roy Holt (Helen); several nieces and nephews.In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.The family extends their sincere gratitude to the doctors, nurses and staff of the Veteran’s Medical Center for their exceptional care of Gene.To leave an online condolence for the family please visit www.oakhillfh.comThe care of Gene Holt and her family has been entrusted to the staff of Oak Hill Funeral & Cremation Services.
