George Wesley Cline, 78, of Kingsport, TN, passed away Saturday, November 10, 2018, of injuries sustained in an automobile accident.He was born in Myersville, MD to the late Clarence W. and Dorothy E. King Cline. Mr. Cline lived in Myersville most of his life and moved to Kingsport in 2008.He served in the U. S. Army and was a member of the U. S. Army Reserves.Mr. Cline retired from Burdette Brothers Pontiac as manager of the Body and Paint Center.Mr. Cline enjoyed country music, helping others and loved spending time with his family.Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by his sons, David Wesley Cline and Michael Nelson Cline and two brothers, Elmer Lee Cline and Howard Eugene Cline.Surviving are his loving wife of 56 years. Rita Bowman Cline; three sons, Rodney Eugene Cline, John Walter Cline and wife, Amanda and George Galen Cline and wife, Stephanie; five grandchildren, Benjamin Logan Cline, Caleb Austin Cline, Victoria Hope Cline, Natalie Grace Cline and MeeSong Charlotte Cline; two sisters, Betty Kaye Martin and husband, Jodi and Barbara Faye Rutherford and husband, Lynn; brother, Charles Arthur Cline and wife, Maria and several nieces and nephews.A Memorial Service will be held at a later date in Maryland.The family would like to extend a special thank you to their family, neighbors and friends for their compassion and care.Online condolences may be shared with the family by visiting www.oakhillfh.comThe care of George Wesley Cline and his family has been entrusted to Oak Hill Funeral and Cremation Services.Read Obituary

"Oh they call it that ole mountain dew and them that refuse it are few"--I can still hear George and Chet Green playing a guitar and singing those words as we rode the school bus from Myersville to Middletown back in the 1950's. The whole bus load would join in, it was a good way to start a day. Condolences to the family. RIP George.

So sorry to hear of your loss. I remember Mr. Cline and his entire family always treated me as one of the family. He was a great caring and compassionate man. The way he lived and treated others has surely shaped the generations that have come after him. I'm proud to say I knew him and the Cline family. We are praying for the entire family.
