Gerald C. Edwards

Gerald C. Edwards, 82, of Hiltons, VA went to be with the Lord Saturday, March 30, 2019, at Holston Valley Medical Center. He was born August 8, 1936, in Dickenson County, VA to the late Cecil and Nannie Rasnick Edwards.Gerald was a loving son, husband, father, grandfather, brother and uncle. He enjoyed woodworking, mowing, gardening, fishing and hunting.Gerald retired from Eastman Chemical Company as a steam plant Supervisor following twenty-eight years of service.He was a committed Christian and faithful member of Higher Ground Baptist Church, Kingsport.In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Farrel Eugene Edwards.Those left to cherish his memory are his loving wife, Sharon Leonard Edwards; son, Ronald K. Edwards and wife, Lisa; grandchildren, Tyler and Seth Edwards; brothers, Kenneth Edwards and wife, Ann, Gary Edwards and wife, Doris; several nieces and nephews.The family will receive friends Tuesday, April 2, 2019, from 12:00-1:45 pm in the J. Wayne Hamilton Memorial Chapel of Oak Hill Funeral Home. A Celebration of Life Service will be conducted at 2:00 pm with Dr. Phil Hoskins officiating.Graveside Service will follow at Holston View Cemetery, Weber City, VA. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials in Gerald’s honor be made to the Parkinson’s Association at apdaparkinson.orgThe care of Gerald C.
