Harry Belk

Harry M. Belk, 91, of Kingsport, passed away Thursday, June 6, 2019, at N.H.C., Farragut, TN. He was born September 13, 1927, in Rock Hill, SC to the late Harry M. Belk, Sr. and Loma McCain Belk.Harry was a loving husband, father and grandfather who enjoyed spending time with his family. His favorite past-time was computer programming. He was a graduate of Dobyns-Bennett High School and earned his B.S. Degree in Chemistry from the University of South Carolina. Mr. Belk retired in 1987 as a chemist with Eastman Chemical Company following thirty-four years of service.He was a veteran of the U.S. Army having served during the Korean War from 1951-1953.In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Margaret Belk Zaitz.Those left to cherish his memory are his devoted wife of sixty-nine years, Irene L. Belk; son, Christopher Belk and wife, Tammy; granddaughter, Katherine Belk; several nieces and nephews.A Graveside Service will be conducted at 10:00 am Tuesday, June 11, 2019, at Oak Hill Memorial Park in the Garden of Gethsemane.
